Co-Extruded Pipes — Why They Matter

A co-extruded pipe is a multi-layer HDPE pipe whose layers are formed simultaneously during extrusion. The white inner layer is made from virgin PE100; the outer 10% from the tougher PE100-RC grade. The white colour is visible proof of virgin raw material.

Why Does the White Layer Mean Virgin Raw Material?

Virgin polyethylene granules are light-coloured, while recycled material always produces a black compound. The visible white inner layer of a co-extruded pipe is an honest signal that virgin raw material was used — not recycled stock. The outer PE100-RC layer is stronger and more impact-resistant.
