PE80 vs PE100 — What Is the Difference
Aman Sadykov2 min read

PE100 is a stronger polyethylene grade than PE80. At equal pressure, a PE100 pipe has a thinner wall (and lower weight), or at the same wall thickness it withstands higher pressure. PE100 is the modern standard for pressure pipeline systems.
Why Is PE100 More Cost-Effective at Large Diameters?
PE100's higher strength allows a thinner wall at the same pressure rating. At large diameters this significantly reduces raw material consumption and pipe weight, simplifying transport and installation. That is why PE100 is the preferred choice for trunk pipeline networks.
